Tignes Diary - Week 6 Saturday 7th February I am transferred to Les Arcs in the morning and arrive in time to meet Andy and Clive, who have arrived from London last night, for lunch. The weather closes in and visibility is terrible but we get out on the mountain for a couple of hours. It is their first experience of boarding outside Milton Keynes. They are staying in the Mont Blanc, so I will be joining them for dinner during the week. After dinner we sink a few in the bar. It's great to be back! Friday 6th February A hectic day, up early to edit the film of the week's boarding. Out on the slopes, back to the kickers and the board park for more filming. Back home to finish editing and pack for my transfer to Les Arcs tomorrow. Spend my last night in Tignes, until April, in the Angel Bar with all my visitors. Cheers guys! Thursday 5th February The guys have built another kicker in the morning so I join them and build an enormous one, it took me all afternoon. Lots of filming done, mostly of people stacking it! All my visitors are too tired to go out so I pop into the Alpaka for a couple. Wednesday 4th February I take the morning off, leaving the guys to do their own thing. Some of them spend the afternoon building a kicker and getting some jumping practice in. I go out for a couple of hours and pay my first visit to the Val D'Isere snow park, doing a few runs over the three blue kickers and failing to nail the rail. Tuesday 3rd February It is now really hot out here, 6 degrees centigrade. Spend the day riding with Dave and Ben, doing the off piste off Solaise Expres in Val D'Isere. Mark finally decides he can stay out for more than two drinks so after getting kicked out of TC's in Lavachet I escort the guys to the legendary Jacks nightclub in Le Lac - and abandom them! Monday 2nd February It is another beautiful hot day. I spend the morning on the nursery slopes with Caroline and Pui-Yee and the afternoon riding with the boys. Sunday 1st February Spend the morning sorting out Caroline and Pui-Yee with lessons, and equipment hire. They arrived from London last night and are here for the week. Met up with the boys in the afternoon and took them riding in Val D'Isere. Drag them all down to the Alpaka for shot night. |
